Question below

Q.) hand washing, afraid that i will contaminated with AIDS Virus by casual contact of people having cut in hands, seeing dry blood at the road, barber shop cut the skin by blades, hospitals stuck by contaminated needles, not touching the doorknob having some red colour spot

A.) The odds of you getting aids in these ways are slim to none, period. What you could try in this case would be to sit in a relaxing space, like your favorite couch or your bed, even your car. Close your eyes and envision yourself having aids. Picture yourself as someone who has it. Know that there are many medications that make it so that it's not a death sentence anymore. This will be hard, but not as hard as you think. Now get to the point where you accept it. Now picture yourself as not having aids. We are going on sort of a mental rollar coaster ride here, but what we are doing is dipping our minds in the fear so to speak. We are exposing you to the fear, and having you face it in your mind.

I say these things because with this type of exposure, you don't want to purposely touch things that are bloody or blood itself. You have made a wise decision in not touching those things. But don't be obsessed with them. You can do this by saying to yourself, "I don't care, I am going to act like people who don't have OCD do when I see blood." this is the "fake it till you make it principle." Because you won't believe the statement at first, but what you are doing is using an embedded command. If you continue to tell yourself that You are going to act normal around blood and not be obsessed with it and then act as though you feel normal about it although you don't, your brain will see this action and start to learn. Once you learn this technique, you will have it at your disposal for life and you can use it to accomplish great things as well, even things that have nothing to do with OCD.

(Questions are briefly answered here in this blog. I am currently creating a product that will answer these questions in great detail with "how to" step-by-step instructions and audio, so check for this in up coming e-mails!)
